Hackney School Rain Garden
Working with a primary school in Hackney to explore opportunities to incorporate planting and permeable surfaces into their outdoor spaces.
The design reduces concrete surfaces which become very hot in summer and introduces trees to provide shade and cool the surrounding air.
It also creates teaching environments for the school’s children to learn about caring for plants.
Part of Emil Eve’s social enterprise and research initiative offering free-of-charge architectural work on projects that seek to make a positive contribution to their community.
